Clinical and Nutritional Research

We have published clinical and epidemiological studies on chronic inflammatory bowel diseases, gastrointestinal motility, and functional disorders, including randomized clinical trials on therapeutic strategies for functional abdominal pain. Additionally, we have implemented gold-standard nutritional programs for hospitalized and ambulatory patients, including parenteral nutrition.

Endoscopy and Instrumentation Development

Our Pediatric Endoscopy Quality Improvement Network (PEnQuIN) has significantly advanced the field by establishing metrics for assessing safety and quality in pediatric endoscopic care, published in a JPGN supplement. Furthermore, in collaboration with ETH Zürich, we have initiated a research project to develop innovative instruments for the detection and removal of metallic foreign bodies from the esophagus of children.
