Information for at home (Station C)

• If a fever is suspected, take the temperature in the ear or axilla.
• Take medication regularly according to schedule (always bring it with you).
• Watch out for skin haemorrhages (haematomas, petechiae).
• Make sure you drink enough.
• Please wear gloves when handling urine until five days after the end of chemotherapy (oral and venous).

• Do not administer suppositories (suppositories) and never measure fever rectally.
• Do not administer any additional medication without consulting the care team.
• Avoid direct sunlight and use sunscreen and sun cream with a high protection factor when out in the sun.
• NO Nopil in the week before methotrexate.

• In case of fever: once above 39.0°C or one hour above 38.5°C.
• In case of repeated vomiting or diarrhoea.
• In case of persistent nosebleeds or blood in the faeces or urine.
• In case of severe pain or worsening of the condition.
• For skin rash.
• In case of contact with diseases such as varicella (chickenpox) and other infectious childhood diseases or shingles.

All unplanned or emergency consultations for your child are organised via the Emergency ward of the UKBB. We kindly ask you to call us in advance so that we can inform the emergency ward. Please apply Emla plasters beforehand.

• Emla plasters should be applied on admission to the haematological oncology outpatient clinic at the latest.
• Outpatient appointments take place at the weekend on ward C, these take place exclusively in the mornings.
• Prescriptions can be requested at the clinical controls.
• Please request reports and doctor's letters 1 week in advance.
